Congratulations to the researchers of the UP EEE Institute’s Electric Mobility Research group for receiving two Best Paper awards at the recently concluded 2024 IEEE Transportation Electrification Conference and Expo, Asia Pacific (ITEC-AP 2024):
“Optimizing Hull Design for a Battery-Electric Inland Waterway Catamaran,” by Sheryl E. Diokno, Rovinna Janel C. Tayo, Lew Andrew Tria, and Paul Rodgers,
“Standardization Framework and Policy Recommendation for Electric Propulsion Systems in Electric Passenger Ferries for Inland Waterways in the Philippines” By Meljean-Kate L. Tagao, Rovinna Janel C. Tayo, and Lew Andrew Tria.
The two papers are part of a DOST-funded research project entitled, “Development, prototyping and pilot deployment of an electric passenger ferry for inland waterways”. Engineers Sheryll Diokno, Meljean-Kate Tagao, and Rovinna Janel Tayo work as Project Technical Staff of the project. Dr. Lew Andrew Tria is a professor at UPEEEI while Prof. Paul Rodgers is a professor at the UP Department of Mechanical Engineering.
ITEC Asia-Pacific is part of the global IEEE ITEC conference series which aims to provide a forum for sharing knowledge, experience, and ideas in electrical technologies for transportatiom. ITEC-AP 2024 was held in Xi’an, China, from October 10-13, 2024.
