UPEEEAAI Medal for Best Undergraduate Projects 2026

ABOUT THE EVENT

The UPEEEAAI Medal for Best Undergraduate Projects is an esteemed recognition awarded by the University of the Philippines Electrical and Electronics Engineering Alumni Association, Inc. (UPEEEAAI). This award celebrates exceptional undergraduate projects that demonstrate innovation, technical excellence, and significant contributions to the field of electrical and electronics engineering.

The UPEEEAAI invites undergraduate students from the University of the Philippines to showcase their capstone projects. The event provides a platform for young engineers to present and receive valuable feedback for their original work.

IMPORTANT DATES

  • May 28-29 199 Poster Symposium
  • June 5 EEEI DDSA informs the Top 18 groups and subsequently endorses them to the UPC 2026 and UPEEEAAI screening committees
  • June 11 Deadline to submit video presentations for the UPEEEAAI medal (max 5 minutes only)
  • June 15-19 Finalist selection
  • June 19 Announcement of Finalists: Top 3 Research & Top 3 Design based on video presentations
  • TBA Final Judging via Live presentation
  • July 8 Awarding during COE Recognition Rites

Semi-finalist Selection and Judging:

  1. The Top 9 Research Projects and Top 9 Design Projects will be picked from the top scoring projects from the 199 or 198 projects completed between the start of the Midyear 2025 term to the end of the Second Semester AY 2025-2026. To qualify, grades must be uploaded in the 199/199 Grade Submission Portal by the time finalists are to be announced.
  2. The 18 projects will be endorsed to the College UPC 2026, upon endorsement of the advisers and the institute. The same 18 projects will be considered as semi-finalists for the UPEEEAAI Medal for Best Undergraduate Projects 2026.
  3. The semi-finalists will need to submit a 5-minute video presentation of their project.
  4. Three (3) Research Projects and three (3) Design Projects will be selected asynchronously as finalists based on video presentations and the following criteria.
CRITERIA FOR VIDEO PRESENTATION

Finalist Judging: 

  1. The Top 3 Research Project and Top 3 Design Project finalists will present their work in person to a panel of judges at UP EEEI. Each group will be given 10 minutes to present and 15 minutes for Q&A.
  2. Two winners will be chosen: one for the Research Category and one for Design Category using the following criteria.
