The Philippine Association for the Advancement of Science and Technology (PhilAAST) awards the 2023 David M. Consunji Award for Engineering Research to EEEI Director Dr. Lew Andrew Tria during its 72nd annual convention with the theme “National Wealth Creation and Sustainable Development through Science, Technology, and Innovation” last September 22, 2023 at The Manila Hotel.
Dr. Tria has received the award for his exemplary work in electrical engineering research, “particularly in power electronics, electrical motor design and energy systems, and the development of local design innovations of light electric-powered motor vehicles and acquiring a patent on fast charging EV system that will contribute to a sustainable Philippine transport industry.” He was one of the recipients of the nine prestigious awards that were given during the convention, each recognizing their contributions to various fields in science and technology.
The David M. Consunji Award for Engineering Research was established by PhilAAST and DMCI Holdings, Inc., which aims to recognize outstanding researchers in the field of engineering.
